Our new All Day Legging has had quite the debut—climbing to the top of our bestseller list ever since it hit the site. Its clean, minimal design and fit have notably earned high marks across the board. So we sat down with our women’s design team to learn what makes this legging stand out, the careful construction that went into it, and what people are saying about it. But first, a quick note from our co-owner, Jenna.

When we set out to make the All Day Legging, it took years of dialing in the details, wear testing, and perfecting that just-right fit. We were so stoked to finally launch it a few months ago. Turns out, so were you.


Since then, the All Day Legging has skyrocketed to the top of our bestsellers and we’ve absolutely loved seeing the positive reviews roll in. We also heard a ton of interest in adding a classic black colorway into the mix, and as one of our fan-favorite styles this season—we couldn’t resist.

About This Style 

“Holy smokes.” “Wow.” “Are you for real?” All common reactions to the wildly soft and barely there feel of our All Day fabric. With a flattering matte finish and high-waisted fit, the All Day Legging delivers smoothing coverage and a form-hugging (but never too tight) feel. Not to mention the soft peached finish and minimal seam design that makes ‘em feel like a second skin.

Behind the Design


Our women's product line manager, McKenzie, built, re-built, and obsessed over these leggings for years to bring them to life. So we asked her what it took to make them a reality. 


What inspired you to make a legging?

A legging was definitely something missing from our Free Fly women's assortment and we knew we needed to fill that gap. We know our customer reaches for her leggings often when she’s looking to head outside and get active—so we wanted to complete her outfit/closet in that way.

How long had this style been on your bucket-list to bring to life at Free Fly?

It's been an exploration three years in the making. We had a legging a few years ago,  but instead of iterating off that one, we decided to focus on building our new legging from the ground up—paying very close attention to every detail from fit to seams to softness. We think it really paid off.

How did you dream up this fabric? It's SO soft...

First, we went to our own closets. We wanted to reference our favorite leggings in the drawer that we reach for over and over in the cooler months—but make them even better and more durable. 

The fabric had to have that signature Free Fly feel and softness, but also have that look that makes people say "What leggings are you wearing??" We also wanted the face of the fabric to be matte and peached and not super shiny and slick.

What do you see this legging being used for?

This is a legging that I see being a workhorse in your wardrobe. Because of the clean aesthetic and minimal seaming, it can be easily dressed up with a big sweater and boots, but it's also going to perform during your favorite activities. You can sweat in it in a yoga class, wear it for a fall hike, or use it as an extra layer in the cold.

Which details are you most excited about?

The high rise waistband is SO flattering and ultra comfortable. I love the storage it provides as well. Other than that, my favorite feature is what's not on this legging—too many seams. I love the clean look and comfortable feel of not having seams on the outseam or the ankle. The hem is also unique. It's heat cut which gives it a raw aesthetic but won't fray or ravel.

There's so many leggings out there—how does this one stand out?

Mainly for all of the reasons I've listed up until this point! The combination of the ultra-soft fabric, the sleek and minimal design, the perfect fit, and our signature Free Fly color palette.

What are your go-to Free Fly styles to pair with it?

Pair the leggings with our Bamboo Lightweight Fleece and you'll be the most comfortable person in the room. Choose the Cropped Hoodie for a modern look or if you want more butt coverage, pair it with the Fleece Pullover Hoodie. I can't wait for the temps to drop so I can rock that fit to the office.
