Based out of Apalachicola, FL, Danielle Davidson has only been guiding full-time for a couple years now, but she’s been a dedicated angler all her life. She grew up on the water in Gulf Breeze, FL where her family competed in fishing tournaments and owned a nearby fish camp. “I grew up in a fishy family. Fishing was just part of life, it was what we always did,” she tells us. After becoming a deckhand on a 63-foot catamaran in college, she earned her captain’s license—and the motivation and know-how to start guiding full-time. Today, she owns and operates her own fly shop, the Forgotten Coast Fly Company, where she’s established herself as one of the few female guides in the area—hoping to get more people out there with an incredibly approachable guiding style that makes you feel right at home on the water.
