Whether you’re cruising in from an epic day on the water or planning a big night out—grabbing a bite to eat with waterfront views is a surefire crowd pleaser. Even better? Getting there by boat. So we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite restaurants and eateries that let you dock right there and dine out on fresh caught seafood, cold drinks, and live music.
_____
WEST COAST PICK
The Cannery
Newport Beach, CA
One of the most iconic restaurants in Newport Beach, The Cannery has been around over 80 years. With marina views, a solid happy hour, and tasty dock-to-table menu it’s hard to go wrong here. They offer dock space and slips on the Rhine Channel—just make sure to reserve ahead of time.
Local tip: Head upstairs to the Jellyfish Bar for one of their next-level margaritas.
The Bay
Santa Rosa Beach, FL
From their award-winning gulf coast eats to their live music scene—The Bay is a guaranteed good time. Located right on the Choctawhatchee Bay with their own private beach, this waterside institution hosts beach bonfires every Wednesday night with some of the best live music in the Panhandle.
Local tip: Don’t miss happy hour (from 3-5pm) for half off most drinks. Also, make sure to try Chef Jim Shirley’s Bomber Burger or Hot Mess Sushi.
Sandy Island Bar and Restaurant
Sandy Island, Anguilla
In the middle of the Caribbean, you’ll find a tiny spit of land called Sandy Island. The only thing on it? A beach bar. But don’t let the remote location fool you—they’re fully prepared to whip up menu items like Drunken Coconut Shrimp and icy, fresh fruit cocktails.
Local tip: Catch a round trip shuttle for $40 from Sandy Ground Beach on Anguilla.
Saltwater Cowboys
Charleston, SC
Did someone say “trash can nachos?” A Free Fly favorite, Saltwater Cowboys sits right on Shem Creek and delivers heavy hitters like shrimp and grits, pulled pork, and cult-favorite nachos. Live music, a gazebo bar, and laidback dog-friendly vibes make this a summertime must.
Local tip: We’ll say it again: trash can nachos.
Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster Company
South Freeport, ME
“Harraseeket on a summer day is about as good as it gets. Best fried clams, over-stuffed lobster rolls and live lobster to purchase all in a low-key walkup window. BYOB.”
