Brandon Cyr

Fishing Guide, Conservationist
Key West, Florida

Born and raised in Key West, Florida, Capt. Brandon Cyr grew up on the water long before guiding became his profession. Fishing, lobstering, and spearfishing alongside his dad instilled a deep respect for the ocean and the fisheries that define the Florida Keys. Watching his father guide—and seeing how a single day on the water could become a lifelong memory for clients—made Brandon’s path clear early on.

After graduating high school, Brandon stepped directly onto the flats and never looked back. Today, he guides from Biscayne Bay to the Marquesas Keys, specializing in technical fly fishing that rewards patience, preparation, and persistence. Brandon thrives on the constant evolution of the fishery and the challenge of refining his craft. For him, guiding isn’t just about catching fish—it’s about creating meaningful connections to wild places that deserve our respect and protection.

The pursuit is what keeps me coming back. Fisheries are constantly changing and evolving, forcing both guides and anglers to continually hone their skills. That addiction to solving the unsolvable is what seems to grab hold of most fly anglers.

Fly fishing for these difficult species in the Keys isn’t about getting lucky—it’s about getting better through practice, patience, and determination, and that’s what I love most.
