Take a look back at a few of our favorite moments that helped shape an extraordinary year at Free Fly. Thank you for making 2018 memorable and being a part of this incredible community. We hope you find somewhere fun to go unplug with those you love. From our family to yours, happy holidays.

Family First

We welcomed two Free Fly babies to the office family this year (and another one is on the way)! With these newborns, we can confidently say the future of Free Fly is in good hands. To celebrate, we launched our first product for toddlers: our best-selling hat shrunk down, Wave Snapback Toddler

Conservation and Community Focused

Work at Free Fly wouldn't be complete without giving back to our community and conservation partners. This year we held two initiatives to donate to our conservation partner, Water Mission — one through our backyard Charleston sample sale, as well as donating a percentage of all online sales on Giving Tuesday. We also worked with the Coastal Conservation Association of North Carolina during Hurricane Florence to raise resources for relief efforts. And a year at Free Fly wouldn't feel right without frequently volunteering with local water keepers, working at the food bank, and adopting families during the holidays.

Happy Office, Happy Hour(s)

We play just as hard as we work. At least once a month, our team would shut down the office for staff fishing trips, paddling adventures, beach days, and of course happy hours at Lewis BBQ for legendary margaritas and brisket nachos.

The Year of New Product

2018 was a great year for our product development. (We'd say the best yet, but 2019 is just around the corner... hint hint) This year, we added 32 new Free Fly products to the line including: a quality expansion to our graphic collection, a brand new material (polar fleece), and our first dress! With this expansion of our product assortment, we've begun to support the lifestyle of our customer's off the water and during their colder adventures in the mountains.

The "Comfort On, Adventure Out" Series

There is no doubt that our Charleston backyard is rich of stories to share and activities to enjoy. So this fall, we launched a 3-part "Comfort On, Adventure Out' series to capture and share what we love so much about the fall in the lowcountry: chasing redfish, casting nets for shrimp, being on the water, and of course good old fashion southern eats.

Introducing the Guide Post

We launched a blog called the Guide Post, where we're talking about new product developments, highlighting cool trips from our ambassadors, and sharing ideas on things to do in the Lowcountry and beyond. So official we know... be sure to check it out and let us know what you think!

The Real M.V.P: Our Customers

Days at Free Fly are extra special because of our customers. We thank each one of you for your support and kind words throughout the year. Here is our favorite from the year:

"Most the time I feel like I'm wandering around without pants on that's how comfortable they are. Free Fly will be my official shorts for the foreseeable future"

- Pete | Men's Breeze Shorts

The Free Fly Ambassadors

Anglers, surfers, pit masters, and outdoor enthusiasts, our Free Fly ambassadors embody the adventurous spirit that we support here everyday. They are a critical part to our team and help with product development/feedback, content creation, and constantly inspire us and others to live the Free Fly way. To date, we have a team of 15 ambassadors and a crew of 85 college ambassadors.
