This year, with the reemerging of local events – both social and charitable – we've found ourselves embracing the sense of community that's finally been returned to us. With that, our Free Fly fam took the time to sit, reflect on and define the areas of service we're most passionate about, so that we can help make an impact in our own backyard. Where we landed: efforts centered around humanitarianism, conservation and supporting the next generation.

This Giving Tuesday, we’ve chosen to give back to two nonprofits that resonate with us at our core, from our love of the water to our commitment to community. Windwood Farm and Water Mission are bettering lives – near and far – providing life-saving support and genuine fellowship to individuals and areas that need it most. Scroll on to learn more about these great organizations.

Windwood Farm

Since 1985, over 700 boys have called Windwood Farm their home. The 110-acre campus, scattered with ponds, trails and wildlife provides therapeutic residential services to abused and neglected boys throughout the state of South Carolina. This nature-surrounded safe haven provides healing through behavioral, educational, and therapeutic interventions.

Each child brought to Windwood receives the appropriate healing therapy and care needed to build future success, while still being able to be a kid. Proceeds given to Windwood will be used to give each boy the new beginning they deserve, and the treatment they need, to leave the farm with loving families.

Water Mission

Founded in Charleston in 2001, Water Mission is a Christian engineering nonprofit that builds safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions in developing countries and disaster areas around the globe. To date, they’ve served over 7.3 million people in 57 countries and have responded to disasters in more than 50 countries.

Their latest efforts center around three distinct initiatives: disaster response, providing both immediate aid and long-term solutions to prepare communities for future disasters; “last-mile" communities, building customized safe water and sanitation solutions in extremely isolated areas of the world; and refugee work, assisting individuals who were forced to flee home due to violence, persecution, political unrest, or food insecurity. Money donated will help change the lives of the 2.2 billion people who lack access to safe, drinkable water.
