Born and raised in Georgetown, South Carolina, Forrest Powell started hunting and fishing at an early age. When he found fly fishing not long after, he felt like he'd struck gold by combining the two pursuits. "Fly fishing is the best of both worlds," he says. "I feel like I'm hunting for fish, every time." He set his sights on becoming a fly fishing guide, earned his captain's license at the age of 20, and he’s been hooked ever since. “Poling a client on their first redfish on fly and watching their excitement means the world to me. Getting to live out my passion and share that enjoyment and enthusiasm with others—there’s nothing better than that.”
