On a quiet corner off the Edisto River, you’ll find Marsh Hen Mill—a family-owned outfit milling high-quality grits and cornmeal. Started by Greg Johnsman and his wife Betsy, they’ve become somewhat of a Lowcountry staple, selling their goods to plenty of restaurants right in our own backyard. Inspired by their humble and hardworking operation, we went out to meet Greg and learn a little bit more about Marsh Hen Mill’s stone ground goodness.
